What is CALMATRIT?

Phytogenia introduces Calmatrit topical cream for the relief of arthritic pain and related muscleligament and tendon inflammations.

Keywords:

Osteo-Arthritis (OA), Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD),

Scapulo-Humeral Peri-Arthritis (SHPA),

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), Lumbago,

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs).

World prevalence of OA:

OA is the most frequent form of arthritis affecting millions of people around the world. Some statistics: 2% of people less than 45 years and 30% of people between 45 and 65 years are afflicted with OA.

Causes and predisposing factors of OA:

OA is usually triggered by injury, disease or aging.

Injury will happen following athletic activities or repetitive daily gestures causing undue stress to articulations and surrounding anatomy. Obesity, diet, diabetes and other metabolic conditions represent predisposing factors.

Symptoms associated with OA:

OA symptoms generally develop gradually with manifestations of soreness and stiffness. Stiffness can be more of a nuisance than a medical concern but in many cases, soreness may lead to «wear-and-tear» of cartilage leading to DJD. OA may affect hips, knees, lower back, but also neck, small finger joints, ankle or big toe.

Medical treatment of OA: medicines for OA may be taken by mouth, injection or applied directly to the skin. They include

drugs such as NSAIDs, corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid injections and topical pain relievers. NSAIDs are the most popular drugs to ease OA pain, swelling and stiffness caused by arthritis.

It is true that severe symptoms of OA often require systemic medications. However, topical pain relievers are becoming much more popular because of their safety and effectiveness.

Calmatrit contains a synergistic blend of essential oils: botanical extracts of clove, eucalyptus, mint and wintergreen   represents an «all-in-one» formula acting simultaneously on pain, inflammation and impaired mobility. The cream is designed to penetrate deeply enabling the oils to reach inflammation without leaving any greasy residue.

Mode of use: rub Calmatrit cream to affected areas by using a small amount in circular motions 3 to 4 times daily depending on severity of symptoms. If symptoms persist or worsen after 7 days discontinue use and consult a health practitioner.
